Tolstoy's Confession: Week II

Leo Tolstoy's Confession begins with the author on the verge of committing suicide. Famous, wealthy, and loved by family and friends, Tolstoy finds that he cannot escape the fear that his life is meaningless and that “death is the truth.” His spiritual testament describes his anguished search for a truth that might save him from despair and the empty consolations of status and success.

On Monday, July 15th, join Matthew Rose (Morningside) as we discuss Tolstoy’s journey through Western and Eastern philosophy in pursuit of genuine wisdom. During this session, we will cover pages 33-64 (Ch. 5-9) of Confession. Please find a link to a PDF of the book below.
