Manfred Honeck is the music director of the Pittsburgh Symphony and one of the finest conductors in the world. This fall he will conduct Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 with the NY Philharmonic and pianist Víkingur Ólafsson. Join Morningside as we explore the ideas and techniques behind great musical interpretation.
We will visit Maestro Honeck’s first rehearsal with the Philharmonic from 10–12:30 at David Geffen Hall, followed by lunch with the Maestro at the Merton Institute at 1:15 PM.
Students are welcome to join the rehearsal, the lunch, or both as they are able. Please RSVP to receive travel and meeting information.
