2025 marks the 500th anniversary of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, one of the greatest composers of Western sacred music. The program includes some of the composer’s most beloved and timeless motets, gems by other leading composers active in Rome at that time, and a new work by British composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad, written especially for this occasion.
On Saturday, March 29, at 5:30 PM, join Morningside for a pre-concert talk with Professor Giuseppe Gerbino (Columbia) before we head to Stile Antico’s performance at 7:30 PM. Dinner will be provided. Students can buy discounted tickets at the link below.
This performance, organized by the Miller Theatre at Columbia University, will take place at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin (145 West 46th St).
