Many judges claim that original intent or original public meaning are essential for interpreting laws or the Constitution. In this dinner seminar, legal historian Philip Hamburger (Columbia Law) will offer an introduction to what original intent and original public meaning are, how we can discern them from different historical texts, and why they matter.
This event will take place in the Feldberg Space of Columbia Law School's William and June Warren Hall, 1125 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10027, 1st Floor.
Please note: Spaces for non-affiliates of Columbia Law School are currently full. We can only accept further RSVPs from affiliates of the Law School.
