Tolkien: Maker of Middle-Earth

J.R.R. Tolkien authored The Lord of the Rings, which has endured as a favorite of twentieth-century fiction, but in writing his magnum opus he developed a much larger universe rich in mythology, language, and history. Showing at The Morgan Library after its successful opening in Oxford, the exhibit on Tolkien: Maker of Middle-Earth comes to NYC and presents memorabilia, illustrations, maps, draft manuscripts, and designs that show the scope of Tolkien's created universe. Our visit will include a lecture on the relationship between Tolkien's art and his writing, followed by discussion over dinner in midtown Manhattan.
